SHANGHAI, July 30 (Reuters) - Melissa Franklin of the United States won the women’s 200 metres backstroke title at the world swimming championships on Saturday.
Franklin clocked two minutes, 5.10 seconds to win gold ahead of Belinda Hocking of Australia who took silver in 2:06.06, while Sharon van Rouwendaal of the Netherlands claimed the bronze in 2:07.78.
