Oleg Blokhin appointed Ukraine coach

Euro 2012 co-hosts Ukraine named former European player of the year Oleg Blokhin as their coach on Thursday in place of caretaker Yuri Kalitvintsev.The 58-year-old, who coached Ukraine to the 2006 World Cup quarter-finals in a previous stint, won a majority of the votes at
 a Ukraine Football Federation executive committee meeting.
