NHL-Canucks' Sedin in running to keep Hart Trophy in the family

Daniel Sedin was among the three finalists named for the Hart Memorial Trophy on Thursday, giving him a chance to capture the most valuable player award a year after his twin brother and Vancouver team mate won the sport's highest individual honour.

Right wingers Corey Perry of the Anaheim Ducks and Martin St. Louis of the Tampa Bay Lightning were also nominated for the Hart Trophy, which will be presented June 22 at the NHL Awards in Las Vegas.
Sedin, who recorded 104 points in the regular season to capture the same scoring title his brother Henrik claimed last year, also notched an NHL-best 18 power-play goals and tied for second with a plus-30 rating.
If Daniel is named MVP, he and Henrik would be the first brothers to win back-to-back Hart trophies.
Perry enjoyed a late-season scoring binge that gave him a league-leading 50 goals that helped propel the Ducks into the playoffs, finishing fourth in the Western Conference.
St. Louis, a Hart Trophy finalist for the first time since he captured the award in 2004, finished second in league scoring with 99 points while leading Tampa Bay to a 23-point improvement over last year's campaign and their first playoff berth in four years.
