Mukund leads India recovery

MIAMI, July 8 (Reuters) - A maiden half-century from Abhinav Mukund helped India recover from two early losses to reach 102 for two at lunch on the third day of the third test against West Indies in Dominica on Friday.

India lead the three test series 1-0 and trail West Indies by 102 runs with eight first innings wickets remaining in the rain-affected match.
Murali Vijay (five) was caught behind off a rising delivery from West Indies pace bowler Fidel Edwards and then India found themselves 18 for two after Rahul Dravid was bowled by Darren Sammy for five.
But Abhinav Mukund (52) and Vangipurappu Laxman (30) saw the tourists through to lunch in confident fashion.
Mukund’s half-century was his first at test-level in what is his debut series.
