ZURICH, May 9 (Reuters) - Soccer's world governing body FIFA announced on Monday that it would donate 20 million euros ($28.57 million) to Interpol to help fight match-fixing and illegal betting.
FIFA president Sepp Blatter said the grant would be used to set up a
dedicated anti-corruption unit in Singapore.
"Match-fixing shakes the very foundations of sport, namely fair play, respect and discipline," Blatter told reporters.
"That's why FIFA employs a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to any infringement of these values."
