The New York Rangers will play popular Czech ice hockey club HC Sparta Prague in a Sept. 29 exhibition game in Prague, the NHL said on Thursday.
The game will precede previously-announced regular-season contests for the Rangers in Stockholm, where they will play the Los Angeles Kings on Oct. 7 and the Anaheim Ducks on Oct. 8.
Two other regular season games that will help launch the NHL's 2011-12 regular season will match the Ducks and the Buffalo Sabres in Helsinki on Oct. 7 and the Sabres and the Kings in Berlin on Oct. 8.
The contests will mark the fifth consecutive year the NHL has played games in Europe.
