Portuguese Costa wins Tour de France eighth stage

SUPER BESSE, France, July 9 (Reuters) - Portuguese Rui Alberto Costa won the eighth stage of the Tour de France, a 189-kms trek from Aigurande on Saturday.

Belgian Philippe Gilbert was second and Australian Cadel Evans took third place.

Norway’s Thor Hushovd retained the overall leader’s yellow jersey.
