Brazil will come good - keeper Julio Cesar

CAMPANA, Argentina (AFP) - Brazil goalkeeper Julio Cesar insisted on Tuesday that the team would, like Argentina, come good at the Copa America, telling reporters they would iron out their early problems.
The critics have rounded on the team after draws with Venezuela and Paraguay - in the second match only a last-minute goal from Fred staved off disaster.
But Julio Cesar says the auriverde, who are seeking a third straight continental crown, will find their form against Ecuador on Wednesday - just as hosts Argentina did against Costa Rica.
The 31-year-old stressed that coach Mano Manezes is, some experienced names such as himself aside, blooding a young team with an eye on the 2014 World Cup which they will host.
At the same time, he says their selection for the squad means they are good enough and must show it.
"The young players who are in the team at the Copa America are experienced and know they are important for the team," said Julio Cesar, point to the fact that if the likes of Neymar are new to the international side they have cut their teeth at club level to make the cut for the Copa squad.
He concluded that the team now had to show its true capabilities.
"In the next game we have to shut the critics up as a decisive match awaits us to continue in the Copa America and we have to show out best football to get a win and underpin confidence for the next phase," he told reporters.
Julio Cesar added he found it strange that Argentine star Lionel Messi had come in for such stark criticism after his own team's slow start.
"Nobody discusses his qualities and yet he is exceptional. At the same time he was getting criticism."
With Argentina having renewed their love affair with the fans by rolling over Costa Rica with Messi producing a superb performance, Julio Cesar said he hoped that "if we produce an excellent showing against Ecuador the praise will rain down (on Brazil) once more."
He explained coach Menezes "is just putting a team together and it's always a tough job to start with."
