Australia keep World Cup dream alive with win in Bochum

Bochum, Germany - Australia celebrated their first win of the women's World Cup Sunday with a 3-2 victory over Equatorial Guinea in a Group D encounter in Bochum.

Leena Khamis gave the Australians an early lead but Anonman levelled for Equatorial Guinea before second-half strikes from Emily van Egmond and Lisa De Vanna put the Matildas back in control.
Anonman netted her second of the game seven minutes from time to reduce the deficit to 3-2 but Australia held on for the win.
Tom Sermanni's side should have also been awarded a first-half penalty when defender Bruna held the ball in her hands in the area for a couple of seconds after a Khamis shot came back off a post, but referee Gyoengyi Gaal from Hungary inexplicably waved play on.
The win sees Australia move on to three points, level with group favourites Norway and Brazil, who meet later Sunday in Wolfsburg.
Both Equatorial Guinea and Australia went into the match needing a win after suffering narrow single goal losses to Norway and Brazil, respectively.
The Australians started the stronger and went ahead in the 15th minute when goalkeeper Miriam spilled a shot from Heather Garriock into the path of Khamis, who tapped the ball home.
Bruna's moment of madness in the penalty area shortly afterwards went unpunished and five minutes later the Africans were level when Anonman robbed Servet Uzunlar of possession before rounding Australia goalkeeper Lydia Williams to make it 1-1.
Australia regained the initiative three minutes after the restart when a superb cross by Khamis was finished clinically by van Egmond.
The game looked over as a contest three minutes later when De Vanna gave Australia a two-goal cushion but Anonman's late strike saw the Matildas endure a nervous final seven minutes.
