BUENOS AIRES, June 25, 2011 (AFP) – The Argentinean star Lionel Messi and the young Brazilian prodigy Neymar -who are known as the king and his aspirant to the throne- head the list of players who will play in the 2011 Copa America. Their goal is to guide
the teams to victory in the tournament.
Messi, 67kg and 1.69m, and Neymar, 64kg and 1.74m, have “lightweight” body builds but heavyweight abilities in the field, where the ball is their best friend.
The King, Argentinean Messi the24-year-old star, started in the youth division of FC Barcelona in 1998, and underwent a hormonal treatment due to a growing deficiency. Since his first professional match in 2004, he became an idol to thousands of fans.
His prodigy, the Brazilian Neymar, the 19-year-old star, proved to be a diamond in the rough, and quickly became an idol at Santos FC, where he has a contract until 2015 with and a termination clause worth €45 million.
However, “La Pulga’s”  trajectory, age and current quality, determines a greater advantage than Neymar, and has a salary according to his status. He is one of the most well paid sportsmen in the World, with €32.3 million per year.
With all eyes on them, the heirs of Pelé and Maradona will try in the tournament to play with the exuberant energy levels they have been showing in their clubs and face the challenge-to prove themselves in the tournament, especially  Messi.  Let’s see how they’ll do in the 2011 Copa America.
