MADRID (AFP) - Newly promoted Spanish club Real Betis on Tuesday announced the signings of Jefferson Montero and Javier Matilla from La Liga rivals Villarreal.
Ecuadorian winger Montero has joined on a season-long loan with no right-to-buy clause, while Spanish midfielder Matilla arrives on a permanent three-year contract with an option for a further year.
Seville-based Betis, who will return to the Spanish top flight after one season in the second tier, have reportedly paid 1.4 million euros ($2m) to acquire the two players.
