Madrid (dpa) - Italian teams Torino and Roma were held to
disappointing home draws in the Europa League round of 32 first legs
Thursday, by Athletic Bilbao and Feyenoord respectively.
Argentine striker Maxi Lopez twice gave Torino the lead against Bilbao, only for the Basques to get a 2-2 draw thanks to goals from Inaki Williams and Carlos Gurpegui.
Meanwhile in Rome, pre-match scuffles between Roma and Feyenoord fans soured the atmosphere in the Italian capital. Gervinho gave Roma the lead, only for Colin Kazim-Richards to make it 1-1 for the Dutchmen.
However, Italian pride was salvaged by Napoli, who enjoyed a 4-0 romp at Trabzonspor.
In other early matches, Everton won 4-1 at Young Boys and Wolfsburg beat Sporting Lisbon 2-0.
Later Thursday, holders Sevilla were to host Borussia Moenchengladbach, and Tottenham were to take on Fiorentina.
