UCI rejects allegations of Armstrong cover-up

NEW YORK, May 23 (Reuters) - The International Cycling Union (UCI) has rejected allegations that Lance Armstrong failed a doping test a decade ago and the sport's governing body covered it up.
In a strongly-worded statement released on Monday, the UCI said
the allegations, made by Armstrong's former team mate Tyler Hamilton on the U.S. version of "60 Minutes" on Sunday, were untrue.
"The International Cycling Union categorically rejects the allegations made by Mr Tyler Hamilton, who claims that Lance Armstrong tested positive for EPO during the 2001 Tour of Switzerland and had the results covered up after one of his representatives approached the Lausanne laboratory responsible for analysing test results from the event," the statement said.
