Inter, Napoli on heels of leaders AC Milan ahead of derby

Inter Milan edged minnows Lecce 1-0 on Sunday with a goal from Giampaolo Pazzini to move within two points of Serie A leaders AC Milan ahead of a crucial city derby.
The front-runners on Saturday lost 1-0 at Palermo to stay rooted on 62 points from 30 games and risk losing the lead when they tackle the Nerazzurri on April 2.
Eight games will be left when the two giants clash at the Giuseppe Meazza after a weekend of international games.
Title holders Inter lined up a series of missed chances in the first half with Pazzini, Cameroon star Samuel Eto'o and Dutchman Wesley Sneijder.

There was some risk for the Nerazzurri when Daniele Corvia narrowly missed the target with a fast volley, as Lecce pulled no punches against the hosts' sometimes static defence.
Pazzini switched gears after an indifferent first half and forced a difficult save from Antonio Rosati before stunning him on 52 minutes as he stormed into the box.
Controlling the remainder of the game was fairly easy for Inter, who ran a single risk when Andrea Bertolacci fired too centrally from inside the box to beat the diving Julio Cesar.

In a late Sunday game, surprise package Napoli profited from Milan's slip-up and moved within three points of the top as a brace from Uruguay bomber Edinson Cavani led them to a 2-1 win over guests Cagliari.

Fourth place Udinese won 2-0 over struggling Catania with Antonio Di Natale converting a spot kick for a top-scorer tally of 25 goals - three more than Cavani.

Struggling giants Juventus resumed winning after three defeats and one draw with a 2-1 edging of lowly Brescia, who had Paraguayan Victor Mareco dismissed with a second yellow card after Alessandro Del Piero's second-half winner.

Juve stayed in seventh place with a five-point gap from one of two available Europa League berths.

Bologna and Genoa drew 1-1 at mid-table, Parma won 1-0 at Sampdoria, and Chievo won 2-1 at bottom side Bari.

Earlier Sunday, veteran striker Francesco Totti scored a second straight brace to help Roma draw 2-2 at Fiorentina.

The 34-year-old twice levelled in Florence a week after leading Roma to a 2-0 win in a city derby against Lazio, and now boasts 201 goals in the Italian Serie A - all of them scored donning the Giallorossi's jersey.

Lazio opened the weekend Saturday edging lowly Cesena 1-0 to stay two points behind Udinese in the race for the last available berth in next season's Champions League.
