Colts' Manning has surgery, expected back for preseason

CHICAGO, May 25 (Reuters) - Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning has undergone neck surgery, for the second time in just over a year, but expects to back training soon.
Manning went under the surgeon's knife on Monday to
repair a bulging disc in his neck and said the procedure was a success.
"Everything went well and I plan on being ready to go to camp, whenever that is," Manning told the Indianapolis Star.
Manning was also operated on last year for a pinched nerve in his neck but Colts owner Jim Isray said the latest procedure was less invasive and Manning would be back training in six to eight weeks.
"Peyton's doing fine, he's on the mend from neck surgery in Chicago," Isray tweeted.
The 2011 season is not due to start until early September but remains in doubt because of a dispute between players and owners.
