Coach Delio Rossi on Monday was due back on the bench of Serie A side Palermo, five weeks after being fired and replaced by Serse Cosmi, the Sicily club said. Cosmi was dismissed late Sunday after a 4-0 drubbing at Catania in a regional derby. Palermo lost three of the four games played under the new coach.
Rossi was fired in late February following a 7-0 drubbing from Udinese. He returns with the club from the
Sicilian capital lying seven points from a Europa League berth with as many games left in the season.
On April 20 and May 10, Palermo tackle Serie A leaders AC Milan in the Italian Cup semi-finals.
Struggling Parma also fired their coach Pasquale Marino late Sunday after a 2-1 home defeat to bottom-side Bari, which dropped the northern club two points above the drop zone.
