Madrid, Chelsea reach quarterfinals with 4-1 wins

LONDON (AP)—Real Madrid stormed into the Champions League quarterfinals with a 4-1 victory over CSKA Moscow on Wednesday, while Chelsea needed extra time to overturn a first-leg deficit and beat Napoli by the same score.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice in a 5-2 aggregate victory for Madrid, taking his tally to 42 goals this season.
Chelsea’s 3-1 loss at Napoli in the first leg contributed to Andre Villas-Boas being fired, but the revival continued under interim coach Roberto Di Matteo with a third straight win.
Chelsea advanced 5-4 on aggregate, with Frank Lampard’s 75th-minute penalty kick sending the game into extra time and Branislav Ivanovic scoring the winner.
Chelsea, the 2008 finalist, is England’s last remaining team in the competition.
