New York (AFP) - The National Hockey League slapped San Jose Shark senforcer John Scott with a four game ban for hitting an opponent with the butt end of his stick.
Scott on Monday swung his right arm at Anaheim Ducks forward Tim Jackman, striking him in the face with the butt end at the 8:18 mark of the second period. Scott was also fined $34,000.
He will not be eligible to return until January 5, when the Sharks play the Jets in Winnipeg.
