BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) --
Louisville junior Montrezl Harrell is suspended from the fourth-ranked
Cardinals' next game after being ejected Saturday at Western Kentucky
for throwing an elbow.
Harrell,
an Associated Press preseason All-American first-team selection, became
tangled with several Hilltoppers players with 38.7 seconds remaining in
the first half. As officials tried to separate players during an
ensuing shoving match, an upset Harrell swung an elbow at one Hilltopper
and continued yelling after being restrained.
After
reviewing video replays, Harrell was assessed a flagrant-2 foul and
ejected. Harrell is suspended for the Cardinals' game on Tuesday against
Cal State Northridge. He can return next Saturday against in-state
rival and top-ranked Kentucky.
WKU's D.J. Clayton received a technical foul, along with technicals issued to both benches.
