SANTA FE, Argentina (AFP) - Copa America organisers on Monday fined Venezuela, Paraguay and Ecuador for late shows at their respective opening matches.
The organisers' disciplinary commission explained the 5,000-dollar fines were for "delaying the start" and "taking the field late" for the countries' Group B matches.
The fines came with a warning of "more drastic sanctions" if the teams again showed up late.
