MENDOZA, July 2, 2011 (AFP) - Uruguay is already confirmed to face Peru, on Monday, in San Juan, in the opening of the Group C of Copa America. The eleven players were announced by the coach Oscar Tabárez this Saturday.
The formation done by Tabárez to face the Inca's rival has the main presence in the defense of Mauricio Victorino, who will play in place of the injured Diego Godin, and the strikers Luis Suarez, Edinson Cavani and Diego Forlán.
Thus, Uruguay will play with Fernando Muslera, Maxi Pereira, Diego Lugano, Mauricio Victorino and Martín Cáceres in the defense, Diego Perez, Egidio Arevalo Rios and Nicolas Lodeiro in the midfield, Luis Suarez, Diego Forlan and Edinson Cavani in the attack.
Peru and Uruguay will play on Monday at the stadium Bicentenary of San Juan, at 7.15pm local (10.15pm GMT) in the opening match of Group C, which will have Chile and Mexico playing on the same day at 9.45pm local (12.45am GMT).
