Rugby-Wallabies can carry Reds momentum to World Cup-Horwill

The Wallabies can carry the momentum of Queensland's Super rugby triumph into the test arena with the confidence they can beat any team in the world, Reds captain James Horwill said on Tuesday.
The lock joined Australia's Tri-Nations squad in Sydney late on Monday with 15 of his provincial team mates after celebrating the 18-13 triumph over the All Blacks-studded Canterbury Crusaders side in the Super rugby final on Saturday.
Having recovered from his hangover -- "Sunday wasn't too flash," he said -- Horwill was ready to turn his attention to Australia's Tri-Nations and World Cup campaigns.
"We can take that momentum and build going forward and hopefully we can get as many Reds players in the team as possible," Horwill told reporters at the team hotel in the beachside suburb of Coogee.
"It's not just the Reds guys, though, but the confidence of the whole group to beat anyone," he added. "We have the belief in our ability and we just have to take it onto the park and put it into practice."
When fit, Horwill was ever present in the Wallabies jersey until a knee injury wrecked his 2010 season and the big Queenslander is desperate to win his 25th test cap in the Tri-Nations warm-up against Samoa in Sydney on Sunday.
"It was extremely frustrating last year but this year has gone pretty much to script, to come back and win a Super rugby title ... and now to be back in the Wallaby mix," the 25-year-old said.
"I'm just excited to hopefully pull the jersey again because it's been about two years between drinks for me ..."
Radike Samo has waited seven years for his international recall, a stretch which took in time in France and Japanbefore he returned to Australia as emergency injury back-up for the Reds late last season.
The hulking back row forward, who won two Super rugby titles with the ACT Brumbies as well as a French title with Stade Francais in 2007, was clearly surprised by his call-up.
"Mate, I'm stoked," the 35-year-old said. "I never thought I'd be back here. It's been seven years, I just wanted to come back and have another crack at Super rugby.
"I can't believe I'm here."
Fijian-born Samo is the first cousin of All Blacks winger Joe Rokocoko, who missed out on the New Zealand  squad for the Tri-Nations which was announced on Sunday.
"I got a text from him on the weekend just to say well done on the win and the selection," said Samo. "It was disappointing to see he ... was not in the All Blacks squad.
"I'm just happy I made the squad."
Samo also confirmed he had signed up for another two years with the Reds. His fellow flanker Beau Robinson, who was also included in the Wallabies squad, has also signed a new two-year deal, the Reds said on their website (www.redsrugby.com.au).
