CHATEAUROUX, France, July 8 (Reuters) - Briton Mark Cavendish won the seventh stage of the Tour de France, a 218-kms ride from Le Mans which was marred by crashes on Friday.
The HTC Highroad sprinter beat Italy’s Alessandro Petacchi and Germany’s Andre Greipel.
Norway’s Thor Hushovd retained the overall leader’s yellow jersey, while Briton Bradley Wiggins pulled out after breaking his collarbone following a multiple pile-up.
