CARACAS, June 28, 2011 (AFP) – The Venezuelan coach, César Farías, announced today the list of players who will play in the Copa America, and who will head to Argentina today.
Unfortunately, defender Juan Fuenmayor suffered an injury in his right knee during training and therefore was not on the final list to play in the competition.
Besides Fuenmayor, defender William Díaz and midfielders Edgar Jiménez, Fracisco Flores, Angelo Peña, Angel Chourio and Alejandro Guerra did not make the final list.
The team will commence play on Sunday, against Brazil, and will face Paraguay and Ecuador in the group stage of the Copa America.
The final list includes:
Goalkeepers: Renny Vega, Dani Hernández and Leo Morales.
Defenders: Gabriel Cichero, Grenddy Perozo, José Granados, Oswaldo Vizcarrondo, José Manuel Rey, Roberto Rosales and Alexander González.
Midfielders: Giácomo Di Giorgi, Franklin Lucena, Tomás Rincón, Juan Arango, Yohandry Orozco, Luis Manuel Seijas, César González and Jesús Meza.
Forwards: Nicolás Fedor, Salomón Rondón, Daniel Arismendi, Giancarlo Maldonado and Alejandro Moreno.
