Robinho, eternal hope to 'big brother' of the Brazilian national team

RIO DE JANEIRO, June 29, 2011 (AFP) - Robinho, often regarded as the hope of Brazilian football, now 27 years, assumes his new position as leader of the national team as they prepare for the 2011 Copa America.  He is acting as a 'big brother' for young stars like Neymar.

The coach, Mano Menezes has shown great confidence since he took control of the national team after the early exit Brazil had in the World Cup in 2010.
Although, still not convinced on the ground, Robinho is the top scorer, with 27 goals.
"Being the top scorer of Brazil gives me motivation. I hope to have good games, scoring the goals needed to do well at the Copa America" he was quoted by local media.
Promised as "the new Pele" when he began to shine in 2002 on the same team that ‘The King’, Robinho now strives to be a 'big brother' to his fellow novices selection, as Ronaldo did with him in Brazil and Real Madrid, his first European team between 2005 and 2008.
"Ronaldo always gave me advice on and off the field. All that good advice given to me, I am passing on to young Neymar, Lucas (from Sao Paulo FC) and Ganso” said Robinho.
