Forlán said he is in better shape now than he was in the 2010 FIFA World Cup

MONTEVIDEO, June 28, 2011 (AFP) – Striker Diego Forlán (Athletic Madrid, SPA) said on Monday that he arrived at the Copa America in a better shape than in the 2010 FIFA World Cup, but  he commented “this is without playing much in the last two months, this
way I could get ready and practice hard”.
“I haven’t played in the past few months, because of personal problems I had with the coach, this allowed me a lot of time to rest,” Forlán told the radio station 1010 AM (A Fondo), one week before Uruguay’s first match in the Copa America.
Forlán played in the last part of the previous game at his club. The Spanish press noted that he may have a bad relationship with Coach Quique Sánchez Flores.
The forward – winner of the Golden Ball for been the best player of the 2010 FIFA World Cup -, said he was surprised that “in today’ Spanish football the associations allow a coach to consider personal problems with the player rather than the quality of the player”.
Talking about the Copa America, Forlán said Uruguay must be careful. “We are calm, and we know the team is complete…They can say you’re a favorite, but in the last Copa America (2007) we lost to Peru 0-3. You can play a great match, but if you allow one goal the whole match changes”.
