QPR decision delayed beyond original Friday deadline

LONDON (Reuters) - The decision on whether newly-promoted Queens Park Rangers will be deducted points has been postponed beyond an original Friday deadline, the Football Association said on Thursday.
The English Championship (second division) champions, who
play Leeds United in their final league match on Saturday, face seven charges from a regulatory commission relating to the transfer and contract renewal of Argentine midfielder Alejandro Faurlin.
If found guilty they could be heavily fined and/or have points deducted which could lead to them losing the title and perhaps promotion.
"It was originally indicated that the decision of the Independent Regulatory Commission hearing on the charges against QPR and Mr Gianni Paladini concerning Alejandro Faurlin and on any sanction, if appropriate, would be announced by 4pm (BST) on Friday 6 May if possible," the Football Association said in a statement.
"This will not now happen. A decision will be made and announced as soon as possible thereafter."
