MONACO, May 24 (Reuters) - Aldo Costa has stepped down as Ferrari technical director to take up "new responsibilities" within the company, the Formula One team said on Tuesday.
Ferrari said in a statement ahead of Sunday's showcase Monaco Grand Prix that the change was immediate.
"The technical activity has been restructured in three areas," the team said.
"Director for the chassis side is Pat Fry, production is in the hands of Corrado Lanzone, while engine and electronics continues with Luca Marmorini."
The Italian glamour team had a miserable weekend in Spain, with double world champion Fernando Alonso lapped by Red Bull's race winner Sebastian Vettel despite finishing fifth.
