Horse racing-Early favorite Dialed In drawn for eighth position

LOUISVILLE, May 4 (Reuters) - Dialed In drew the eighth starting position in a 20-horse field for Saturday's 137th running of the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs and was established as the early 4-1 favourite on Wednesday.

Dialed In, the Florida Derby winner trained by Nick Zito,
will have Julien Leparoux aboard.

The early second choice in the Run for the Roses was Uncle
Mo, rated a 9-2 pick who will start on the outside from post
position number 18.

Uncle Mo, ridden by John Velazquez and trained by Todd
Pletcher, was unbeaten as a two-year-old including an emphatic
victory in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile, but lost some admirers
when he was beaten in last month's Wood Memorial.

Third choice in the early odds was Nehro at 6-1. He will be
starting alongside Uncle Mo at number 19.

For the eighth year in a row, the first leg of the Triple
Crown drew the maximum field of 20 in what could be a messy
charge over a muddy track after heavy rains hit the area.

At 10-1 in the early line were Archarcharch (starting from
the first post position), with Jon Court up, and Midnight
Interlude (15), ridden by Victor Espinoza.

Grouped at 12-1 were Mucho Macho Man (13), Shackleford (14)
and Soldat (17).

Jockey Calvin Borel, winner of three of the last four
Kentucky Derby races, will be aboard 20-1 shot Twice the
Appeal, who will start from the third gate, close to the rail
where Borel likes to position his rides.
