Finnish court sentences brothers in bribe case

HELSINKI (Reuters) - Zambian players Dominic and Donewell Yobe were found guilty on Friday of taking a bribe in relation to a match-fixing probe and the Finnish Oulu district court gave both a seven-month suspended sentence.

The court said in its verdict that it had been proved that the brothers, while playing for AC Oulu, had last September received a bribe of around 50,000 euros after their team lost a match against Turku TPS 5-0.
In March the pair were questioned by Finnish police and later that month HJK Helsinki dissolved midfielder Dominic's contract and AC Oulu cancelled Donewell's deal. The Yobe brothers denied the charges.
