MENDOZA, July 7 (Reuters) - Uruguay will make two changes to the side that drew with Peru when they face Chile in their next Copa America clash, coach Oscar Tabarez said on Thursday.
Sebastian Coates will replace Mauricio Victorino in the heart of defence while Alvaro Pereira will come in for Nicolas Lodeiro in the centre of midfield, Tabarez told a news conference. Both changes are tactical.
“The basic way we play is always the same but we always try to adapt to the characteristics of our opponents, and respect their strong points,” the coach said. “That’s why I’m making the changes.”
Tabarez confirmed that Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin is still suffering from a throat infection and will not play.
