LONDON (AFP) - Real Madrid turned on the star power as the Spanish giants continued their pre-season preparations with a 2-1 victory at Leicester City on Saturday.
Jose Mourinho sent out a strong Madrid line-up that included Sergio Ramos, Sami Khedira, Kaka, Karim Benzema and Marcelo before introducing Iker Casillas, Cristiano Ronaldo, Mesut Ozil and Xabi Alonso at half-time.
Sven Goran Eriksson's English Championship club have spent big during the close-season, but they had no answer to Madrid's dazzling array of stars.
Summer signing Jose Callejon and Benzema put Real in control before Lloyd Dyer's late reply for the Foxes.
Mourinho's men took the lead two minutes before half-time when Leicester's club record signing Matt Mills misjudged a long ball allowing Benzema clean through on goal.
The France international laid the ball into the path of Callejon and he tapped into an empty net.
Madrid went further ahead just after the hour mark when another defensive mistake let in Marcelo. His shot struck a post before Benzema netted the rebound.
Dyer pulled a goal back in the 89th minute with a close-range volley from a long throw.
The Spanish club are reported to have been paid £2 million by Leicester's Thai owners to appear in the friendly.
The Raksriaksorn family completed a £30 million takeover of Leicester last October and millions were expected to watch the game in Thailand, where the club had sold the rights to the national TV network.
Leicester kick off their Championship campaign against Coventry next week as promotion favourites after the Raksriaksorn family allowed Eriksson to spend £8.5 million on new signings.
