Se Ri Pak sets early pace at Women’s British Open

CARNOUSTIE, Scotland (AP)—Se Ri Pak topped the early leaderboard on 8 under as defending champion Yani Tseng moved back into contention at the Women’s British Open after she added a 6-under 66 to her opening 71 at the halfway stage Friday.
Pak of South Korea added a second-round 64 to her opening 72 to set the early halfway pace.
The American-based Pak said she felt “comfortable, really calm” during her round.
Pak had two halves of 32 with four birdies in each to post the low round of the tournament.
In calm conditions scores tumbled over the Carnoustie links as the world’s top players took advantage.
Norway’s Suzann Pettersen and 2008 champion Jiyai Shin both matched Tseng’s 66, while Scot Janice Moodie added a 67.
