Rugby-Winger Davies scores hat-trick as Reds reach Super final

BRISBANE, July 2 (Reuters) - Jet-heeled winger Rod Davies scored a hat-trick of tries as the Queensland Reds stormed into the Super rugby final with a 30-13 victory over the Auckland Blues on Saturday.
Davies scored his first with a 70-metre dash after a brilliant
interception in the 12th minute. He then completed the hat-trick after two more searing runs in a 10-minute burst after the break sent a baying crowd of 45,000 at Lang Park into ecstasy.
The Blues were kept scoreless for 40 minutes before lock Chris Lowrey notched their only try.
They, however, shot themselves in the foot with handling errors and were powerless to stop the surging red tide led by marauding flyhalf Quade Cooper.
The Reds, who topped the table in the regular season, won the right to host their first Super rugby final against the Canterbury Crusaders or the Stormers who meet in Cape Town later on Saturday.
