Woods withdraws from Players Championship after nine holes

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Florida, May 12 (Reuters) - Tiger Woods withdrew from the Players Championship on Thursday after slipping six over par after the opening nine holes.



The 14-times major winner came into the tournament after suffering knee and Achilles tendon injuries.
