Twente and Ajax take Dutch title fight down to the wire

ROTTERDAM, May 1 (Reuters) - Twente Enschede and Ajax Amsterdam will decide the Dutch league title between them when they meet on the final day of the season on March 15 after both teams enjoyed wins on Sunday.Twente, who are top with 71 points, beat Willem II Tilburg 4-0 at home, while Ajax, one point behind, defeated Heerenveen 2-1 away.

Before the league finishes, the two sides will meet next Sunday in the Dutch Cup final in Rotterdam.
PSV Eindhoven, 2-1 winners over Vitesse Arnhem, lie third in the league with 68 and would need a win at Groningen on the final match day to secure second spot, which would put them in the Champions League qualifying campaign.
Costa Rican Bryan Ruiz set up Luuk de Jong six minutes before the interval to open the scoring for Twente from close range. Five minutes into the second half Douglas doubled the lead after a corner kick.
Tilburg striker Dragan Jelic scored an own goal after intercepting a corner kick from Theo Janssen before Janssen settled the match from the penalty spot and sealed the relegation of Tilburg who had been in the top flight since 1987.
Mika Vayrynen put Heerenveen ahead after 19 minutes with a superb volleyed lob from 35 metres but Miralem Sulejmani equalised immediately afterwards. Christian Eriksen kept Ajax in the championship race when he struck 28 seconds into the second half.
Marcus Berg opened the scoring for PSV at home against Vitesse. After Marcelo doubled the lead Jordi Lopez pulled one back for the visitors.
