Sweet sixteen for Owens

Sixteen-year-old full-back Jack Owens was among the tryscorers as Widnes halted Barrow's four-match winning run with a 42-14 victory in the Co-operative Championship.Little went right for the Raiders, with head coach Nigel Wright missing the match after being held up in traffic, although they briefly led 8-6 with a try from Andy Ballard and two goals from Jamie Rooney.

Chad I'Anson, Paddy Flynn, Owens and Kevin Penny, who is on loan from Wakefield, scored tries that gave the Vikings a 22-8 half-time lead.
Logan Tomkins added a fifth try early in the second half while Barrow were down to 12 men with Ben Davies in the sin bin.
Steve Tyrer, Joe Mellor and Thomas Coyle also touched down, with Ballard adding a second try for the visitors.
