Sevilla, Real Sociedad sack their coaches

MADRID (AFP) - Spanish first division sides Sevilla and Real Sociedad have sacked their coaches after their disappointing results this season.

Real Sociedad fired Martin Lasarte after the San Sebastian club narrowly avoided relegation, finishing 15th with 45 points, just two above relegated Deportivo La Coruna.
Lasarte lifted the club into the top-flight last season by finishing top of the second division but the team spent the entire season near the drop zone.
"These were two magnificent years. It is not a desirable situation but football is like that," the 50-year-old Uruguayan said.
Sevilla's Gregorio Manzano has left after the club refused to offer him a contract.
"It was an honour and a source of pride to work for this club," he said.
The 55-year-old Spaniard led the club to a fifth-place finish with 58 points and a place in next year's Europe League competition after taking over in September following the sacking of Antonio Alvarez.
