BASSETERRE, St Kitts, May 22 (Reuters) - Pakistan lead West Indies by 104 runs with all 10 second innings wickets intact at lunch on the third day of the second test on Sunday.
The tourists’ advantage would have been even stronger had it not been for a fine rearguard battle from West Indies tail-enders Kemar Roach and Ravi Rampaul who put on 60 runs for the ninth wicket as the Caribbean side scrapped their way to 223 all out.
West Indies needed early wickets from that pair with the ball however and they should have made inroads before lunch but let two chances go begging.
Darren Bravo dropped an easy chance when Taufeeq Umar edged Roach to him at first slip and then another Umar edge off Roach flashed past skipper Darren Sammy in the cordon.
Sammy then failed to hold on to a low edge from Mohammad Hafeez off Rampaul as Pakistan made it to 55 without loss at the interval.
