VIRGINIA WATER, England, May 29 (Reuters) - Luke Donald beat fellow Briton Lee Westwood at the first hole of a sudden-death playoff to win the PGA Championship title at Wentworth and become golf’s new world number one on Sunday.
Both players had finished regulation holes on 278, six under par, after Donald carded a one-under 70 and Westwood went round in 68.
