Manchester City given Tevez boost before FA Cup final

MANCHESTER, England, May 10 (Reuters) - Manchester City captain Carlos Tevez is likely to be fit for this weekend's FA Cup final against Stoke City after being named as a substitute for Tuesday's Premier League match at home to Tottenham Hotspur.

The Argentine, the club's top scorer this season with 19 league goals and often their most influential player, has not played since the defeat at Liverpool on April 11 when he tore a hamstring and his return is a big boost before Saturday's final.
Manager Roberto Mancini had said before Tuesday's game at Eastlands that if he did not feature against Spurs it would be "impossible" for him to play in the Wembley final, where City will be chasing their first silverware for 35 years.
City are bidding to clinch a top-four finish and a Champions League qualifying berth for the first time against a Tottenham side whose dream of snatching fourth will end if they lose.
Fourth-placed City have 62 points with sixth-placed Spurs on 56 from 35 games. Fifth-placed Liverpool, on 58, have played a game more. After Tuesday's match all the Premier league teams will have just two league games left this season.
