May 7 (Reuters) - Five facts about AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri, who won the Serie A title in his first season in charge on Sunday having been a relative unknown outside of Italy before his appointment.
* Born August 11, 1967 in Livorno, Italy
* Started his playing career in the lower Italian divisions before impressing in midfield with Pescara in Serie A and moving to Cagliari, Perugia and Napoli among others
* In 2004 became coach of fourth division team Aglianese, where he finished his playing days
* After a spell at Grosseto, he led unfashionable Sassuolo to promotion to Serie B in 2008 and was soon snapped up as coach of top-flight Cagliari
* Managed to lead modest Cagliari to a top-half finish in 2009 playing an attacking style of football. Three of his unheralded players received Italy call-ups during his tenure. Allegri was surprisingly sacked in April for allegedly talking to others clubs about jobs and was named Milan coach in the close-season.
