BERLIN (AFP) - Germany striker Miroslav Klose will miss Euro 2012 qualifiers against Austria and Azerbaijan through injury, the German football federation announced Monday.
Klose, who is second in the German national side all-time scorers list with 61 goals but finds himself behind Mario Gomez in the pecking order at Bayern Munich, suffered bruised ribs in the 2-1 victory over Uruguay in a friendly on Sunday.
Sami Khedira is also in doubt for the games against Austria, in Vienna on Friday, and Azerbaijan in Baku on June 7 because of a nagging groin problem.
Germany currently top Group A with five wins from five matches and could seal their berth at Euro 2012 should they win their two upcoming matches.
