Finland blitz Norway to reach world semis

BRATISLAVA, May 12 (Reuters) - Finland reached the world championship semi-finals for the first time since 2008 after a 4-1 win over Nordic rivals Norway on Thursday.

Ken Andre Olimb fired Norway ahead with a penalty shot early in the second period but Jarkko Immonen and Tuomo Ruutu quickly replied to put the Finns ahead.

Immonen grabbed his second on a power play at 15.38 in the period to become the tournament's top scorer with seven goals and Jani Lajunen made it 4-1.

Finland will play either Russia or Canada on Friday and captain Mikko Koivu said he had no preference as to who the Finns will face.

"I don't think it matters for us, I think we have to stay strong as a team and do things that we do good and obviously try to do things little better again and more forward," Koivu told reporters.

"It's been getting better. Obviously every game is always different, some games you have to play very good defense to win the game."
