CARDIFF, May 30 (Reuters) - England declared their first innings with a lead of 96 over Sri Lanka on the final day of the rain-interrupted first test on Monday immediately after Ian Bell had scored his 13th test hundred.
After play had begun four hours late, with four of the five days affected by inclement weather, Bell went to 103 with a late cut for four through gully off Thisara Perera.
The players then immediately ran off the field as Andrew Strauss declared the innings closed on 496 for five.
