LONDON, May 11 (Reuters) - Celtic manager Neil Lennon was attacked by a fan during a Scottish Premier League match against Hearts in Edinburgh on Wednesday.
After Gary Hooper scored his second goal four minutes into the second half to put Celtic 2-0 ahead, a fan ran from a stand for home supporters and tried to attack Lennon. The man was eventually wrestled away by stewards and police.
The incident was the latest in a long line of problems for Northern Irishman Lennon, who has received death threats on several occasions.
A package addressed to him containing bullets was intercepted last month at a sorting office in Northern Ireland, one of a series of suspicious packages that have been addressed to him.
Celtic won the match against Hearts 3-0 to keep the Scottish Premier League title race alive going into Sunday's final round of fixtures. Their arch-rivals Rangers are one point ahead.
