Button a better bet on four wheels than two

ISTANBUL (Reuters) - McLaren's Jenson Button has followed up his Chinese Grand Prix howler with humiliation on two wheels when he was beaten in a bicycle race by two 40-year-old women.
The 2009 Formula One world champion, who mistakenly pitted
at the Red Bull garages during last month's race in Shanghai, explained on Thursday how he had suffered a further dent to his pride over the Easter holiday break.
"I did a time-trial bike race on Guernsey, and I got absolutely annihilated by the local boys which was quite embarrassing," the 31-year-old Briton, who has a home on the island, told reporters.
"Sixty two people took part and I finished 34th. (Former world touring car champion) Andy Priaulx did it as well and I beat him, which is the most important thing.
"There was a 14-year-old but I beat him, so that was all right, but then I got beaten by two 40-year-old women. They are cyclists, so that's okay," he said at the Turkish Grand Prix, a race he won two years ago.
"They put me in my place," added the keen triathlete.
"It was a 40km race and the winner did it in 55 minutes, which is just madness. I did it in one hour and two," he explained.
"It was good training, but it was emotional. It was the most pain I've ever been in for an hour."
Button said he was still waiting for a bike like the ultra-light one McLaren's Formula One engineers helped design for Britain's leading sprinter and multiple Tour de France stage winner Mark Cavendish.
"Cavendish is on one..he's got one and he's not even a McLaren driver. What is that all about, eh?," joked the driver.
