Spanish champions Barcelona will fly to London for the May 28 Champions League final in an eye-catching airplane painted with the club's blue and red stripes, it was announced on Monday.
The announcement was made by Hamdi Topcu, the president of Turkish Airlines, one of Barca's sponsors.
Topcu said: "We are going to have the airplane painted in Barca's colours, of blue and red. The flight to London does not come into the sponsorship agreement that we have with Barca, but because of having reached the final we will offer the club the possibility of flying in this plane without any extra cost. We are very proud that they have reached the final."
Ironically, Turkish Airlines are also one of the sponsors of Manchester United, Barca's opponents in the Wembley final.
Topcu added that his company will not be able to fly any Barca fans to the final because Turkish Airlines does not have permission to organize regular flights from Barcelona to London.
Around 30,000 Barca fans are expected to make the trip, though the club has only been assigned 25,000 tickets by UEFA.
