WELLINGTON, May 18 (Reuters) - Daniel Carter, widely regarded as the best flyhalf in the world, has signed a new four-year contract to continue playing for the All Blacks until 2015, the New Zealand Rugby Union (NZRU) said on Wednesday.
The 29-year-old, who has played 79 tests and scored 1,188 points, had been strongly linked with a lucrative move to Europe after this year's World Cup, which is being held in New Zealand.
Local media, however, had reported in recent days that Carter -- one of the NZRU's top three contract renewal targets along with captain Richie McCaw and inside centre Sonny Bill Williams -- was seriously considering staying in New Zealand.
