Robben banned for two games after red card

Bayern Munich's Dutch winger Arjen Robben was Monday banned for two games and fined 15,000 euros (21,600 dollars) by the German football federation after he was sent off Saturday.
Robben was shown a red card after the final whistle went in Saturday's 1-1 draw at Nuremberg for insulting referee Knut Kircher

The ban and fine have been accepted by the player and his club.

Robben will miss Sunday's visit by second-placed Bayer Leverkusen and a trip to Eintracht Frankfurt the following Saturday.

With five matches left of the Bundesliga season, Bayern are lying fourth, a point behind Hanover, nine behind Leverkusen and 14 adrift of leaders Borussia Dortmund.

Saturday's draw led to the sacking of Louis van Gaal and the appointment of co-trainer Andries Jonker as interim coach.

Bayern need to finish at least third for a Champions League qualification spot. Leverkusen's Jupp Heynckes has been appointed coach from next season.
